In the early hours of 15 February 2022, Fang Ting Ting attached dozens of roses and handwritten notes to posts in a public park, sharing words of love and romance with strangers. The action began with a rose found in a rubbish bin the night before, on Valentine’s Day, and a friend’s passing remark: “Perhaps they never got to give it to someone.” An expression of affection may have ended before it could take place. Through dozens of flowers, Fang carried that possible unfinished gesture beyond its intended recipient, allowing it to happen anew through chance encounters with strangers.
