In Blue and Black, Fang Ting Ting further explores the role of line. She uses long, continuous, forceful lines to build forms and reshape the space around objects. She also experiments with establishing the lines first, then adding backgrounds and areas of colour. The arrangement and contrast of colour support the lines, which increasingly organise the rhythm and tension of the paintings.
